Pemby is a budgeting and expense tracking app. It lets you manually enter expenses, scan receipts, add expenses by voice, manage budgets, and organize categories. This policy explains what information Pemby handles and how it is used. We keep it simple on purpose.
Information we collect
Pemby only works with information you choose to give it:
- Account information: your email address, if you sign in to sync your data.
- Expense records you enter, such as amount, merchant, date, and currency.
- Receipt images you upload or scan.
- Categories, budgets, notes, and payment method labels you create.
- App diagnostics: crash and performance data, only if this is enabled.
Information we do not collect
Pemby is not a banking app and does not connect to your bank. We do not collect:
- Bank login credentials.
- Bank account passwords.
- Automatic bank transaction imports.
- Precise location, unless this is added as a feature in the future, with notice.
How we use your information
Your information is used to:
- Provide expense tracking and budgeting.
- Process receipts and voice entries you create.
- Sync your account and data across your sessions.
- Provide support and keep the app working reliably.
Third-party services
Pemby relies on a small number of service providers:
- Convex: backend, account, and data storage.
- An AI service provider: used to parse receipts and voice entries, if that feature is enabled.
- Google Play services: for Android distribution, and for subscriptions if they are enabled later.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to your account and synced data requires authentication. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and control
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
- You can edit or delete your own expenses where the app supports it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Pemby changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
